Medizin Curriculum Wien: neue Anforderungen an die Literatur- und Informationsversorgung für Studierende an der Universitätsbibliothek der Medizinischen Universität Wien
2012-11-16T20:33:59Z Bauer, Bruno So far, students at medical faculties have intensively mainly used two services out of many, which specialized medical libraries have to offer: the textbook collection and the student reading room. Only towards the end of studies, in preparation of dissertations, do students take advantage of bibliographical databases and appropriate journals. During the last years, the medical curricula in many countries, including Germany and Austria, experienced considerable modifications. The reformation of the studies, which, in many cases, actually finds itself in the phase of implementation, is, in fact, a unique challenge for libraries. In support of medical studies, university lecturers and students expect information resources, library services and the relay of information competence, which should clearly surmount existing needs of the textbook collection and the student reading room, as shown in the available contribution, as example of the University Library of the Medical University of Vienna.

2012-11-15T16:18:10Z Texier, Jose De Giusti, Marisa Oviedo, Nestor Villarreal, Gonzalo Lira, Ariel The Institutional Repositories (IR) have been consolidated into the institutions in cientific and academic areas, as shown by the directories existing open access repositories and the deposits daily of articles made by different ways, such as by self-archiving of registered users and the cataloging by librarians. IR systems are based on various conceptual models, so in this paper a bibliographic survey Model-Driven Development (MDD) in systems and applications for RI in order to expose the benefits of applying MDD in IR. The MDD is a paradigm for building software that assigns a central role models and active under which derive models ranging from the most abstract to the concrete, this is done through successive transformations. This paradigm provides a framework that allows interested parties to share their views and directly manipulate representations of the entities of this domain. Therefore, the benefits are grouped by actors that are present, namely, developers, business owners and domain experts. In conclusion, these benefits help make more formal software implementations, resulting in a consolidation of such systems, where the main beneficiaries are the end users through the services are offered.

2012-11-14T08:15:05Z Krajka, Andrzej Ściborek, Artur On the basis of the rich research material i.e the analysis of the transaction logs of the Main Library of the Agricultural University in Lublin, the method of searching the KABA language has been analyzed and the searching have been compared with the other searching opportunities of the OPAC catalogue. The analyzing the retrieval terms, sequentially written by users, lead us on the way of reasoning of users (under the retrieval session) and penetrate the psychologically aspects of there retrieval strategy. It was very difficult. We often have searched identically as users in order to see these retrieval results. Furthermore, we must have had the wide knowledge which deals with these retrieval problems. Additionally, in order to investigate the users interface we will describe the errors made by the users. These errors allows us to improve user’s interface.

2012-11-12T14:16:50Z Ezeiza Pohl, Carlos Enrique This workshop aims to reflect on the social practices of science communication and transfer of results of research in the humanities, seeking to identify strengths and weaknesses in order to propose actions to strengthen consensus. Knowledge production is done under specific situational conditions, including thematic guidelines, privileged methodological options, validation procedures and circuits where the results and the progress of the process are set to move to their socialization. This social communication of knowledge has produced two major recipients. The community of peers with whom dialogue is maintained, often controversial, and the whole of society to which they communicate the findings, which contributes to the enrichment of the general public. The 'knowledge production' only complete with the communication of their results, and both are tasks of the University. Some institutions have opted to Argentine policy of social communication of science and transfer, aware of the positive effect that involves making public what their researchers, which pays off in increased legitimacy of their activities and social recognition to the progress of knowledge. Still others have failed joint effort to create conditions for achieving these objectives. Disclosure is a process by which they perform activities to convey the body of knowledge that is generated and stored in the institutions of higher education to the understanding of the community, which requires decoding of academic language, to achieve adequate understanding towards the receiver. Disclosure presupposes publish action or inform cultural products through the media, whether oral, printed or audiovisual, in order to achieve the formation of the international community of universities, spread the culture to the general public . We aim to produce a situation analysis on the state of social communication in the humanities in public universities, based on the diversity of experiences and conditions. From it, you can produce some recommendations instrumented between Faculties ANFHE members to strengthen this area of activity
2012-11-12T11:38:00Z Voit, Petr The article „The role of Nuremberg in the formation of Bohemian and Moravian book culture in the first half of the 16th century“ deals with the production of manuscripts and single-sheet works by Bohemian writers in Nuremberg in 1492-1546. Despite the fragmented nature of our knowledge of the actual scope of the work performed in Nuremberg, it is possible to suggest that the imports were more beneficial to group interests (religious and professional) than reading communities as a whole. The overall importance of the Nuremberg production consisted in the conversion of the typographic model of Bohemian and Moravian printing works which, according to the example of Hieronymus Höltzel and other Nuremberg printers, abandoned the older bastarda and adopted Gothic script, Textualis, Rotunda and Fraktur script.
2012-11-12T09:14:23Z Badalamenti, Guido This paper is going to analyze the general organisation of the Academic Libraries in Italy, investigating how they are represented in the University Statutes. The aim is to evaluate the level of influence that the guidelines and recommendation for the constitution of a well coordinated structure - issued by a National body - achieved to obtain. The interest is connected to the fact that the Universities are going to change their Statute and it will be advisable they can be influenced by the CRUI (Conference of Italian University Rectors) recommendations. An interesting prospective is the comparison of the results of this analysis with the National measurement of Academic Libraries conducted by GIM (Group for Monitoring the University Libraries). Finally the paper presents a benchmarking of the architecture and organisation of the 84 Universities that have been considered.
